♠  Note:

The exhibition “Leonardo in Valdichiana: A Sketch of the Territory and the Science of Water” is dedicated to the study of the territory and to the evolution of landscape and of the towns in the area.

The  ‘Carta della Valdichiana’,  made in between 1502-1503, is a bird’s-eye map of Valdichiana like an aerial view picture, and is rich of chart and hydrographic information, with perspective representation of castles and mountain ranges. The map maybe was used as a prior study for reclaiming the land of the swampy Val di Chiana valley; or for making the territory navigable, due to the many canals.
