We stayed at le Manzinaie for 4 nights in October 2015. Wonderful location from which to explore Tuscany! Marzia was an exceptional host, providing us with itineraries for the sights we wished to visit and offering excellent advice on places we might have otherwise missed. Fiore was so friendly and helpful as well (and shared his ample supply of liquors with us)! We were with another couple so we stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment. It was very comfortable, nicely decorated and well stocked. We loved the grounds and the open country around the site. Easy driving in this area...short trips to Montepulciano, Pienza, Assisi, Cortona, and wineries. Siena ia also reasonably close. We toured Italy for 4 weeks. Le Manzinaie was one of our favorite stays.

We visited Italy for the first time in 2010. My husband and I have been planning our return to Italy ever since. One of the things we wanted to do different this time was to find a special place to rent for a week so we could really take in the beauty of Tuscany and it's people. When my husband found Podere Le Manzinaie on the internet. We were in hopes that he had found the perfect place.

From the moment we drove through the gate and we're met by Marzia and Alice we knew we had found the perfect place for our week in Tuscany. They were so charming, warm and welcoming we immediately felt like we were at a family members house. While Alice checked us in and told us about our room, the grounds and the area. Marzia brought us a glass of wine and some potato chips. It was a nice added touch to our welcoming.

Alice was so helpful making dinner reservations for us on several occasions including my birthday at one of the families favorite restaurants (Osteria Del Teatro) in Cortona. The meal was fabulous and if you go you have to have the tiramisu.... It is the best we've ever had and we've had a few in our many dining experiences.

Something on my bucket list was to take a cooking class in Italy. Thanks to Marzia, Fiori and Alice I can now scratch that off my list. My husband and I took the class together. It was one of the highlights of our trip. With Marzia's help I made from scratch homemade tagliatelle pasta and my husband made a strawberry tart. It was so fun and we were able to enjoy Marzia, Fioro and Alice all together for several hours.

I could continue to go on and on about how wonderful our stay has been but I need to get ready for the family dinner that they are preparing for all the guests tonight. I have read about them from other guests and we are so excited for this evening except for the fact we have to leave this little piece of paradise tomorrow morning.

We hope to return to Podere Le Manzinaie bringing with us some of the special people in our life to share this special place.

Marzia, Fiori, and Alice if us ever get to Kansas we would love for you to stop by for some of Joe's flour-less chocolate torte.

All our love,
Kelley and Joe McCarthy

Alice, Marzia and Fiore went beyond what we expected in caring for us and helping us to feel at home from the moment we arrived. My husband's luggage was lost and we were dehydrated when we arrived. Fiore made us delicious drinks and gave us our favorite snack- potato chips which we took as a sign that we were in the very best place we could be. Alice kept the phone with her all day Sunday waiting for a call from the driver who was bringing the luggage and was kind enough to get up at midnight to meet him and bring us the luggage. They helped us find our daughters at the Florence train station - without the help of the internet! They sent treats our way throughout the week- fruit tarts, fancy drinks... and we were able to cook with the bounty from Fiore's garden and orchard. They were good company and gave wonderful advice on how to get around a country we had never been visited. We truly would not have felt comfortable traveling to Italy and venturing from Rome to Florence without knowing the three of them were there for us. Not knowing Italian was not a problem; Alice is a linguist and speaks five languages, including English, and Marzia and Fiore were very happy to talk to us using English, Spanish, and Italian!
Marzia and Alice prepared a dinner for all the guests, which was so welcoming and delicious, no one wanted to leave. Fiore has thought of everything to make the grounds and buildings of this once farming property extraordinary: gardens around each villa insure privacy, stocked kitchens and stunning bathrooms and sitting rooms help you to feel comfortable and at peace. Fiore and his family did all the work; he is clearly an architect, a landscaper, and a designer and we were all blessed to experience such a place even for a short period of time.
I was just looking at pictures of Alice's graduation that they sent after we returned and I miss them and their lovely home. They are like good friends who want to support you and who are there for you when a problem arises. We could not have asked for anything more. Their villa and their friendship are truly treasures and we are grateful to have experienced such beauty.

When booking your trip to Tuscany, look no further than Le Manzinaie. It is really hard to describe how perfect this place is. We stayed in "Viole" a self contained, detached residence with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It was extremely clean, well stocked and beautifully decorated by Marzia. We had our own private outside sitting area where we spent many nights relaxing with a bottle of wine (or three) after a long day climbing to the tops of the local mountain villages. The grounds were spectacular.......not only because of there sheer beauty (BRAVO Fiore), but the owners encouraged us to help ourselves to their tomatoes, apples and even a pomegranite. The fresh tomatoes added to our salads at dinner were such a treat. Attending a dinner with the owners each week was one of the many highlights of our trip. They put on a fantastic feast, only outdone by their hospitality. Marzia and Fiore are great cooks (neither wanting to be outdone by the other). Alice was extremely helpful to us.....from providing us detailed maps for our day trips (right down to the location of the best parking lots.....which is very important) to booking dinner reservations for us, to recommending places to go. What a brilliant young lady! We would highly recomment Le Manzinaie simply based on the villa....its beauty, its cleanliness, its comfort, its charm and its location. But Le Manzinaie is so much more than that. Fiore, Marzia and Alice are extraordinary people. Marzia had a dream many years ago that she wanted to live in Tuscany. We are so happy that they had the courage to make her dream come true. Their dream became our reality........and it was perfect. So if you are coming Tuscany.......look no further than Le Manzinaie.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Manzinaie. The apartment was spacious, clean and quaintly decorated. Remnants of orange brick remain from when the place used to function as a farm. Brick archways in the rooms, exposed wood and Marzia's impressive custom murals turn and old farmhouse into a homey, totally Tuscon experience.

A plate of fresh picked plums from their orchard greeted us when we arrived along with a bottle of wine and some basics in the refrigerator which made things easy the next day for breakfast. Guests are given complete access to the gardens and orchards. A memorable 'in room' dinner one night consisted of mozzarella buffala, fresh bread and salami from the nearby town and Manzinaie's amazing tomatoes.

Manzinaie has a convenient location which allowed us to do multiple day trips to nearby towns including Cortona, Montipulciano, Pienza, Assisi and others. We saw many sites, had many great meals and never had to repack and move to new locale.

The best parts of Manzinaie are the hosts. Marzia, Fiore and Alice are exceptional. They go out of their way to delight their guests. They booked tickets for us, gave us recommendations for everything and even hosted an unbelievable dinner for all 16 guests one evening.

Thanks to Marzia, Fiore and Alice for making our Italy vacation truly memorable

This was our first time to Tuscany, and we sure hit the jackpot! Our week's stay at Le Manzinaie was much more than we could have imagined. It all began when we arrived in the evening at this beautiful property and well-appointed Casale to be warmly greeted by Marzia, Fiore and Alice. We immediately felt like royalty and part of the family!
The assistance and care they provided to us in prepared itineraries, reservations, recommendations, suggestions, poolside service and a home-cooked Tuscany dinner was invaluable.
On our next visit to Tuscany, we will stay no where else but with Marzia, Fiore and Alice at the fabulous Le Manzinaie!

We had such an amazing stay at Le Manzinaie. Our casale was clean and very comfortable. Fiore, Marzia and Alice were so helpful and their attention to detail was spot on. They were so kind and thoughtful in very way. Can't wait to go back and stay with them.

I cannot say enough about our stay at Le Manzinaie! Marzia, Fiore and Alice were such wonderful hosts-from warm welcomes to superb recommendations. Daily we would see Fiore maintaining the grounds which were absolutely stunning. Yet he would stop amidst his hard work to make us cappucinos as we sat in the gardens. The family hosted a dinner for all of the guests providing special dishes for me as I have a wheat allergy. It was a fantastic experience and I plan to revisit them again.
