One of the best decisions I made when I planned our trip to Italy was booking an apartment at Le Manzinaie. My husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this agriturismo. We stayed at the Rose, a spacious and fully-equipped one-bedroom that was lovingly decorated by the owner herself with intricate, hand-painted murals. Le Manzinaie's location is central - from there, it is an easy drive to Sienna, Assisi, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Montichiello, San Gimigniano, Volterra, Pienza and the other famed hill towns of Tuscany. What truly sets Le Manzinaie apart is the wonderful family that owns and runs it. Fiore, Marcia and Alicia welcomed us like we were old friends. They attended to all our needs- from stocking the refrigerator and pantry with breakfast items so we wouldn't need to run out to the market on our first night, to making restaurant reservations to planning the perfect itinerary (Lonely Planet and Frommers have nothing on Marcia's guide to Tuscany! And if Marcia gives you directions, follow hers and not the GPS!). The family dinner that they hosted was, hands down, one of the best meals we've ever had. It was such a joy talking with and getting to know our hosts and sharing Twilight stories with Alice. Oh, and then, there's Rufus- the best non-guard dog in all of Sienna! We look forward to our next stay at Le Manzinaie- hopefully very soon and with the children.

It was wonderful to be a le Manzinaie again this fall. It was our third visit since 2002 and everytime it gets beter. The wonderful hospitality of Marcia, Fiore and Alice as well as the beauty of the site draws us back like bees to flowers. They are helpful without being intrusive - suggesting places to visit, providing maps and directions, and even offering an afternoon glass of wine.

We stayed in Girasole this time since we were traveling with my sister. It was ideal - each with our own bedroom and a spacious kitchen, dining and sitting area. The kitchen is well equipped and we made several wonderful dinners and incorpoarating tomatoes, onions and herbs from the gardens.

We look forward to our next visit.

We enioyed our stay at Le Manzinaie very much. The suite was very clean and well equipped. The pool and gardens were peaceful and lovely. We had fun picking fresh tomatoes and zuchinni for dinner. Fiore prepared the barbeque for us two nights when we stayed "home" for dinner and we enjoyed our dinner under the trellis covered with vines. Rufus always was around to check up on us. Alice, Marzia and Fiore were perfect hosts,helping us with suggestions and directions and any requests we had. We felt kind of sad when we left, it was like leaving family. We would definitely recommwend Le Manzinaie to our friends.

Podere le Manzinaie is a little heaven and the stay there a fairytale!

We (my two children and I) stayed there for a week. On our arrival at the Podere le Manzinaie we have been greeted by Alice, her parents (Marzia and Fiore) and their lovely dog, Rufus. I cant forget the beautiful simplicity of a few glowing pears from their own courtyard and the colourful, cold, fresh and full of natural flavour drinks we have been offered by Fiore the moment we arrived. Such a delightful traditional Italian family, so welcoming, hospitable, warm, cheerful and although in the background, they were always there for you with everything one needs for a perfect stay in Tuscany. Providing the best services comes naturally to them.

And I havent mentioned yet the meal they offer once a week to all their guests. Delightful home cooked food by Marzia, an abundance of drinks offered by Fiore, lovely atmosphere and a nice opportunity to meet the other guests from all over the world.

The accommodation was very good, well equipped, very clean, in traditional style and with comfortable beds. Although I realised there were quite a few guests there, peace and quiet was a main feature of the place. The garden was large, with several sections, and well designed hedges between them, providing private lovely spaces for relaxation. A courtyard with various fruit trees and a vegetable garden were available to the guests as well. I have to confess I have had loads of fresh tomatoes, straight from the vine, every day, and what a treat the Italian tomatoes are...
We loved the swimming pool as well. Good size, clean, secluded, well positioned for sun.

Podere le Manzinaie is well located in terms of access to places to visit. Montepulciano is 15 minutes driving, and there are closer smaller places around (Valiano, Aquaviva) where we had delightful meals out. A car is a must for those wanting to visit various places, as the public transport is limited.

Do we want to go there again? Well, we found it hard to leave the place behind after a week there. Another week would have been a much better choice, but who would expect that Podere le Manzinaie would be such a treat? We will definitely go there again, probably more than once.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Alice, Marzia and Fiore for making our stay at their place exceptionally pleasant. We hope to see them again soon! Ciao for now.

Le Manzinaie is a heavenly retreat! From the moment we arrived to the day we said goodbye, Fiore, Marzia and Alice did everything possible to assure that our stay with them would be memorable. We have traveled to Europe dozens of times and our September 2011 trip to Tuscany was one of the best trips that we have ever had to any European destination. Le Manzinaie is stunning. Every suite has been personally decorated by Marzia. The grounds are meticulously manicured by Fiore. What a treat it was to stay in their villa. After long and wonderful days traveling to the many villages and Tuscan sites, returning to Le Manzinaie was like returning to a wonderful home. A dip in the pool was a treat as was picking fruit from Fiore's orchard and vegetables from his garden. Le Manzinaie is ideally located and drives to special Tuscan locations was simple and convenient. An unexpected bonus was meeting so many wonderful people from around the world who were staying at Le Manzinaie while we were there. They may have been strangers when we arrived but quickly became friends due to Marzia, Fiore and Alice's wonderful hospitality. We stayed at Le Manzinaie for about 10 days and we wish that we could have stayed for 10 weeks!!!!!! Bravo Marzia, Fiore and Alice!

A simply wonderful week in the south of Tuscany. An appartment with a family feel - nothing manfactured just good, honest and kind people looking out for our family. "Uncle" Fiore will live long in the memory with his BBQ, sit on lawn mower and lethal cocktails that appeared from nowhere. We will be back!

Thanks so much for your hospitality! Our visit to Le Manzinaie and the Tuscan region was one of the best vacations we've ever had. The location is so close to some of the best villages to visit, and we enjoyed our time at the Villa and with your family while taking a break from sight-seeing. We will always remember the beautiful gardens, fresh/delicious vegetables, and the way that each of you contributed to the making Le Manzinaie so special: Fiori's handiwork, Marzia's design/artwork/houskeeping, Alice's front-office management, and the frequent friendly greetings we received from everyone (including Rufus!). We hope to come back again one day!!

Right from the outset you went out of your way to help us, and apart from letting us stay in such a beautiful place the little things you did - whether it was helping our little boy make a wigwam or inviting us to a meal - have made our trip so memorable and special. We spent a lovely and wonderful week at Le Manzinaie in early July. Where do we begin with our thoughts and words to describe Le Manzinaie and the family and hosts, Alice, Marzia, Fiore? We stayed in the Viole villa which was simply wonderful! We enjoyed morning swims in the pool; delightful cappuccinos made for us by Fiore; constant smiles from Alice, Marzia and Fiore; fresh fruits and vegetables to cook with from Fiore's wonderful garden; the wonderful tuscan feel which surrounded us and assistance from Alice with directions, booking tickets, answering questions and assisting us with plans.
If we should describe Le Manzinaie in a few short words, they are very simple words.... 'the perfect place to stay while visiting the beautiful tuscany region of Italy'! Our stay was so perfect, we did not want to leave and began planning a return trip in 2012 before we even boarded the plane to return home!
If you are looking for a true experience to enjoy Italy, meet others who have the same passion of enjoying the countryside of Italy and to spend time with a lovely family as your host; then Le Manzinaie should be your first choice!

What can I say, but this place is paradise. From the hospitable owners Marzia, Fiore and their gorgeous daughter Alice, to the clean, well furnished and equiped apartment, nothing was too much trouble for them. There was food in the fridge on arrival so we didn't have to run out and buy immediatel. Fiore also supplied us with fresh fruit and vegetables from his garden so we cooked some local food.

A highlight was the typical tuscan meal (many courses, all delicious!) for the guests one night. We had a fab time and loved being with the family and enjoying the company of other guests and the food was delicious!

This farmhouse is just perfect, a great location in Tuscany, and a wonderful place to upwind and relax by the pool or to use as a base to see other highlights of the area.

I will definitely be going back next time but staying much longer than the 4 days we had booked. You could stay forever here!
